Miscellaneous People
Lionel Richie, as drawn by Richard Amsel. I have always felt that Lionel seems like a cool guy, and I wish he was a friend of mine.
Inez Dickerson shot in 1951, by Carl Van Vechten for the Living Portraits Series 1939-1964. I've tried to find out, but I don't know who she is or what she may be known for.
Still from Alejandro Jodorowsky's 1970 film, El Topo (he also directed The Holy Mountain). Sourced from one of my faves, I Love Hot Dogs.
Old friend, David Bowie, putting on his face in the 70s. It looks like so much fun to play with all of that pigment!
Pianist Mauricio Kagel, 1937-2008

Marc Jacobs coat...that's all the info I have.
This is my friend Kelly's dog, Maude.
She was an actress and jazz singer, whose best known performance is Miss One in The Wiz!
The shot is from the Living Portraits series – a really fantastic collection of Van Vechten photographs of notable African Americans, taken between 1939-1964. Most of the shots are styled with brightly colored textiles and lively props.
I like the palette in this Guy Bourdin shot.
Lou Reed for Honda, 1985.
Funny! and kind of shocking, right?

Espadrilles by CastaƱer.
Not sure who these sexy people are. Maybe Morgan Fairchild?
Ok, looked it up...It's Morgan Fairchild and model John McMurray. I guess they were the hottest people around in the 70's.
Back in the 60's, bands made business cards for themselves.
Ages ago, cigarette packs came with collectors' cards. Brands had series themes, such as actresses (like above), dog breeds, cars, musicians, places, flags...pretty much anything.
Joyce Bryant by Carl Van Vechten, 1953. Part of the Living Portraits series.

Billie Holiday and Mister by Carl Van Vechten, 1949.
Living Portraits is a really fantastic collection of Van Vechten photographs of notable African Americans, taken between 1939-1964. Most of the shots are styled with brightly colored textiles and lively props. This photo, though it isn't so bright, is from that series. What a peculiar composition!
Bow Wow Wow, by Andy Earl
Another ring by H. Stern. This one is part of a collection inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
The Pop Group.
I've posted this song before, so I'll just repeat it to match with this image. It's one of my favorite songs anyway, so let's hear it again!
