Fendi Heels, Spring 2014

I have been holding on to these shots for a while, not realizing that I haven't posted them yet! I'm not sure if they're still in stores or not, but if they are, I'm sure it's getting pretty close to clearance time.

Anyway, I definitely got really excited when I saw them, because I am always overwhelmingly attracted to materials like lucite, rubber, plastic, PVC, and lacquer in fluorescent/transparent colors. I also love the architecture of the heels and of course the double straps. I just know that when Fendi sent these out, they were seeking out and expecting my approval. I just know it.

I suppose I must be in a sparkly purple mood lately...

Gimme those pants! I need them right away!

The shoes from this collection (by Nicholas Kirkwood) are hot stuff.
I will need them right away as well, please.

Gucci, Spring 2014

I would like to wear 95% of the Gucci collection for Spring 2014 (the fringy bags account for the extra 5%.) They've done all the things I like: good colors, sparkly stuff, bold patterns, mesh, strappy shoes, and visible triangle bras. Every day, I pass by the store windows and I make a mental note of how much I like what's going on in there.

I've been into the look of visible triangle bras since I was old enough to wear that sort of thing.

I love this fabric. The color combo is so cool.

I'm a big fan of Cynthia Rowley. Her clothes are super cute and always a little funky.

When I was a child, I somehow happened to visit some surf stores in my town...not that my family (or town, for that matter) had anything to do with surfing. The wetsuits that they sold were a HUGE inspiration in my life - the colors, the techy modern materials, skin-tight silhouette. So, I am completely in love with her bonded neoprene clothes and swimwear. The pants are my jam (especially in the Polar Vortex!)

Rowley's seasonal presentations are equally cool. Spring 2014 looks like the conclusion of an adult prom. So fun!

Celine, Spring 2014

Extra-cool looks at the Celine Spring 2014 presentation. I love the bold patterns and primary palette, and the jewelry is outstanding. It's a perfect juxtaposition of crafty-tribal and geometric & architectural.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Spring 2014

French designer JC de Castelbajac's poems and drawings were boldly printed/painted on his Spring 2014 collection, resulting in a cool, artsy look. I love the palette and the funky juxtaposition of natural fabrics and shiny gold. Also, the shoes are totally my type, but I noticed that many of them hadn't been buckled all the way.

By the way, Castelbajac, the perfume, is one of my all-time faves, but it has been discontinued! What's up with that???? I hate it when my favorites are altered or discontinued. Only the shower gel still exists, and that's not really what I'm looking for.

Rick Owens, Spring 2014

Unbelievable! Could you imagine being there in person??? And how much of a surprise this show would be?
I bet the energy in the room was infectious! I love it when designers do their presentations differently, and I found this to be riveting. Could not take my eyes away the whole time!

Rick Owens was inspired by the girls who do step shows, which is something like a black sorority athletic dance team. I remember girls holding practice in the classrooms at night when I went to school at Oakland University; it was always super cool to see!

Pringle of Scotland, Spring 2012

Pringle of Scotland always shows stuff that I want to wear regularly in my daily life, and the spring 2012 collection is no exception. I am especially obsessed with the footwear! So cool! Now, if I could just locate where they can be purchased...it hasn't been an easy task so far.

Ok, this is a little late, but I wanted to make sure that I didn't leave out this collection. I see these looks as perfectly balanced between pretty and cool, and they're things that I could wear every day. Erdem really has a way with color and pattern.
