Dusk in Chinatown. East Broadway in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge, New York City.

There were quite a few series of Boy Scouts-related cigarette cards. This one is from about 1903-1917. The New York Public Library has quite a few other cigarette cards online, arranged by category.

Edward T. Grigware (1889-1960) was a painter of western realism, also illustrated many war-related posters for the WPA. This one was done between 1941 and 1943.

Not sure who these sexy people are. Maybe Morgan Fairchild?
Ok, looked it up...It's Morgan Fairchild and model John McMurray. I guess they were the hottest people around in the 70's.

Ages ago, cigarette packs came with collectors' cards. Brands had series themes, such as actresses (like above), dog breeds, cars, musicians, places, flags...pretty much anything.

Tea set by Bauhaus-era ceramicist, Margarete Heymann. There was a recent article about her in the NY Times. It's interesting because it dispels a little mythology about the Bauhaus.

Whip it good!

I like this kind of photo shoot where it looks like everyone is having fun. This is Mikhail Baryshnikov with a bunch models.

The single cover to Raspberry Beret.
