Vlisco

I love the colors and patterns of West and Central African wax-block textiles, and Vlisco is the gold standard. Vlisco is a Dutch textile house that has been designing and producing them since 1846. In Africa, their fabrics are considered to be the highest of luxury, akin to driving a Rolls Royce while wearing a Rolex (...and I know that possibly means different things for different people, but I think you get the gist.)

Gorgeous!

Miscellaneous

One of my favorite posters, this for the Cuban release of François Truffaut's 1968 film, Stolen Kisses. It was designed in 1970 by René Azcuy Cardenas. This particular image of it comes from the book Revolucion! Cuban Poster Art by Lincoln Cushing, released via Chronicle Books in 2003.

No info on these guys. Looks to be from the 1930s or so.

Love this bracelet cuff by Alexis Bittar! Please get it for me.

How unbelievable is this satin jacket? This is Linda Evangelista in an editorial inspired by Ava Gardener in US Vogue, October 1990. Shot by Peter Lingbergh. Designer unknown.

Superbuzzy Fabrics

I ran across an old folder on my hard drive of fabric swatches. My records indicate that all of these below were available through Superbuzzy. I just did a quick browse...they're still there and they have such impossibly cute stuff!
