Prabal Gurung, Spring 2012

I suppose I must be in a sparkly purple mood lately...

Gimme those pants! I need them right away!

The shoes from this collection (by Nicholas Kirkwood) are hot stuff.
I will need them right away as well, please.

I would like to wear 95% of the Gucci collection for Spring 2014 (the fringy bags account for the extra 5%.) They've done all the things I like: good colors, sparkly stuff, bold patterns, mesh, strappy shoes, and visible triangle bras. Every day, I pass by the store windows and I make a mental note of how much I like what's going on in there.

I've been into the look of visible triangle bras since I was old enough to wear that sort of thing.

I love this fabric. The color combo is so cool.

I'm a big fan of Cynthia Rowley. Her clothes are super cute and always a little funky.

When I was a child, I somehow happened to visit some surf stores in my town...not that my family (or town, for that matter) had anything to do with surfing. The wetsuits that they sold were a HUGE inspiration in my life - the colors, the techy modern materials, skin-tight silhouette. So, I am completely in love with her bonded neoprene clothes and swimwear. The pants are my jam (especially in the Polar Vortex!)

Rowley's seasonal presentations are equally cool. Spring 2014 looks like the conclusion of an adult prom. So fun!

Cédric Charlier, Resort 2014

Belgian-born, Paris-based designer, Cédric Charlier, launched his first eponymous collection in February 2012,
after working at Céline, under Alber Elbaz at Lanvin, and as artistic director of Cacherel.

Bright colors, interesting palettes, modern shapes, and cool sunglasses;
of course all of these looks will fit right in the context of my closet!

Celine, Spring 2014

Extra-cool looks at the Celine Spring 2014 presentation. I love the bold patterns and primary palette, and the jewelry is outstanding. It's a perfect juxtaposition of crafty-tribal and geometric & architectural.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Spring 2014

French designer JC de Castelbajac's poems and drawings were boldly printed/painted on his Spring 2014 collection, resulting in a cool, artsy look. I love the palette and the funky juxtaposition of natural fabrics and shiny gold. Also, the shoes are totally my type, but I noticed that many of them hadn't been buckled all the way.

By the way, Castelbajac, the perfume, is one of my all-time faves, but it has been discontinued! What's up with that???? I hate it when my favorites are altered or discontinued. Only the shower gel still exists, and that's not really what I'm looking for.

MSGM, Resort 2014

Cute looks by MSGM, an Italian brand founded in 2009 by Massimo Giorgetti that has recently started to break into the US. Their clothes have all the stuff I like – fancy casual pieces in funny/weird/funky patterns with bright colors

Barbara Bui, Resort 2014

Barbara Bui's Resort 2014 collection: The interesting details of double lapels/collars and sharp shoulders juxtaposed with the streetwear elements makes for an ultra cool look.

Cynthia Rowley, Resort 2013

Ok, we're not even close to the resort season of 2013, but I just wanted to take a look at Cynthia Rowley's collection, because it's right on for me. I am a sucker for metallics and polka dots, and I also am a big fan of shoes with multiple buckles.
