The very cute tables are what caught my eye first. Like their December windows, LV is giving us another fantastic color palette.

Marni Chairs
The Italian fashion brand, Marni (and always one of my faves), unveiled a line of 100 chairs this year at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, which is an furniture trade show that takes place in Milan.
The iron and woven plastic chairs are traditional Columbian shapes, updated with Marni-type color palettes. They were crafted by ex-convicts in Colombia who are re-assimilating into social and professional life. Funds raised from the sale of the chairs will be donated to ICAM, a Milanese organization that reunites imprisoned mothers and their children.

Chairs by Cassina. Normally, I don't really feel anything special about these Corbusier chairs, and I'm sure it's just because I have seen them so many times. The version above is super cool though. I generally get into powder-coated steel, and I love the color combos. I wonder if we can customize the colors.
An ad for jewelry by Ippolita.
I took this photo of an Alexis Bittar necklace last summer. I wish I owned it. I used to love passing it on my way to the office everyday.
Raf Simons for Doc Martens, Fall 2009. I have a similar pair...they're like the second one, but they are the silver color.

This photo of the Pointer Sisters is so sweet. They have said that they didn't have money for performance costumes, so they wore vintage stuff. The look is much different than their slick "Jump" days...which I like too.
Edie Sedgwick
This is a French new wave (music not cinema) band called Taxi Girl. I have to look closer into what they actually sound like.
Chair by Nendo Design, sold by Phillips de Pury Company; 2010
These vintage Oliver Peoples glasses are roughly like the ones I got last weekend. Super!

Pair of 19th century gold earrings from India, available through Sue Ollemans.
Matchers from Bordelle by Alexandra Popa, Fall 2009
I'm not sure exactly what this is, other than an Esso gas station. It doesn't look entirely realistic, and I don't have information about it at all. It is just cute though.
Hello Dolly poster by Richard Amsel
Lucite Organ and Speakers by Wersi, Germany/USA, 1987. There were only 2 prototypes in America, used as display models. Fresh!!
Michael and Frances Higgins
These are a couple of really cool fused-glass mobiles made by Michael and Frances Higgins, owners of Higgins Glass Studio in Riverside, Illinois since 1948.
The top one is from the 90's and the bottom one is from the 70's.
Though the mobiles are my favorite, they also make things like sconces, platters, bowls, etc. My mom bought me a bowl that looks like their work, but it's not marked, so I am not sure.

Bars at Whitehall and Front Streets in New York City, 1960, by Charles W. Cushman. The intersection is not there anymore.
I'm not sure the exact origin of this image. My notes say she's wearing a paper dress. I liked how the photo looks kind of like a collage.
I lost the info on this sofa! It's pretty funny. It took me ages to realize that it's shaped like a head.
1960's London. I want to be there!
Marilyn Monroe posing as Lillian Russell on a bicycle. By Richard Avedon, 1958.

Bedroom, from 2001: A Space Odyssey
My favorite chair!
It's by Patrick Norguet for Cappellini (2000). Also, it's over 15 grand! But I swear, when it came out it was sold at Design Within Reach for about $8,000. I guess that would have been a good investment...
I have a thing for Hall & Oates. I think they seem like really nice guys, and I believe they're talented. The colors in this photo are really great, but Oates looks a little sinister.
